DOUG TROTTER, MD - PRESIDENT

Doug is a family physician in Washington State. He and his wife Kathy became friends with Mark and Grace when they lived in Kenya in 2010. Mark and Grace shared with them their dream of some day starting a home for orphaned and abandoned children in their home region of western Kenya. Returning to Kenya in 2018, Doug and Kathy learned that the dream was starting to become a reality, and they knew they needed to get on board!
By the grace of God, Doug, Carrie and Sarah have joined hands to form Oasis of Hope International, raising funds in the U.S. to help support Mark and Grace’s new Children’s Village in Kenya. Doug is excited to be part of something special, giving hope and a future to children who would otherwise be without hope.

​Carrie first got involved with Oasis through building a relationship with Mark and Grace during her six month stay at New Beginnings Children's Home and School. She fell in love with the kids and Kenyan culture and felt called to help Mark to start a new children's home, Oasis of Hope. She has raised the initial funds for the purchase of the land, fencing and first temporary structure through the generous donations of family, frends, Lampeter Church of the Brethren, and Methodist Church of Wellsboro. She is the primary connecting piece between the Kenyan board and the US board of Oasis of Hope by making physical visits back over to Kenya and keeping/growing relationships with Kenyan leadership and staff. She believes her role is to bring US support without imposing western values. Oasis of Hope is purely run as a Kenyan organization, and lead by the grace of God.
SARAH - TREASURER

Sarah loved her mission trip to Kenya working with street kids. During this time she had the opportunity to live with a Kenyan couple, Mark and Grace. They became her “African parents.” She is very happy to support Mark and Grace and assist with the start of Oasis of Hope International. It is exciting to see Mark and Grace’s dream come to reality of helping street children by providing education, health care, and most importantly God’s love.
Sarah is married and a mother to three. She enjoys working as a Registered Dietitian running a Dietitian Staffing Company.
